Frequently Asked Questions
High quality installation of an entrance door is key to ensuring its functionality and energy efficiency.
You can choose the standard door installation, where the gap between the door frame and the wall is filled with polyurethane foam or other insulating material, while the frame is secured in place using anchors and screws.
However, an increasing number of customers are choosing the recommended energy efficient entrance door installation according to RAL guidelines.
Energy-efficient installation according to RAL guidelines utilises a system of sealing of the gap between the pane and the building at three levels - internal, intermediate and external.
An aluminium door can be cleaned with clean water with a minimal addition of pH-neutral or low alkaline cleaning agents. Gently clean the surface using a soft cleaning cloth.
It is recommended to clean the door at moderate temperatures of less than 25°C
You can read more about the proper care and maintenance of aluminium entrance doors in our guide.
The motor lock biometric reader for automatic door locking and unlocking cannot be installed in a finished door. Due to built-in electrical components and cables running thorough and out of the door, the complete production of a door with built-in biometric elements requires a different type of manufacturing, where the door and the biometric elements are built at the same time.
When purchasing an INOTHERM entrance door, you can also claim safety (RC2) and thermal insulation subsidies or non-refundable incentives.
These incentives vary from country to country as well as within individual countries. Contact our local sales partners for more information.
The entrance door in a passive house is a very important element, and only a high-quality, professionally installed product provides the desired insulation and air-tightness. Better door insulation is obtained if the door does not have any glass surfaces. If you opt for a door model with glass surfaces, a single pane is preferable to several small glass surfaces.
The windows and doors in a building’s thermal envelope must have a thermal transmittance of Uw ≤ 0.90 W/(m2K) according to the SIST EN 14351-1:2006+A2:2016 standard. They must be installed according to the principle of three-level sealing, as defined in the RAL guideline
